I'm reposting this because I didn't get any feedback earlier.
Here's an idea that just popped into my head. I have no concept drawings of the design, but I think it might be kind of clever. Here's the idea. There's an outline of an electric car in profile, and inside the outline are battery bars like this:
The battery indicator would be very low, and below the car would be some kind of "battery low" warning. That's the general idea. What do you guys think? It's something that I came up with less than five minutes ago, so cut me some slack.
